Here comes my favorite part of the whole trip. This portion of Spain is really scenic and memorable.

Malaga

This town is a huge surprise. We initially thought that this will be a sleepy town with an intention to treat it as hotel point as we explored the region. However, upon arriving at Malaga, it's as if the whole Spain comes alight.

Possibly because of its beach location, Malaga has a laid back and community feel. On the bus to our apartment, we see lively conversations between locals across the front and the back of the bus. It is as if everyone knows everyone.

Despite it's laid back feel, the people here are really efficient and creative. We had to book our train tickets at the rail station for our last train leg to Barcelona. When in Madrid, the lady at the train station wasn't able to help us, but to our surprise, the lady at Malaga station not only helped us with the booking, she even proposed the most convenient option!

Malaga rocks!

Espestos

One of the famous dish in Malaga is the Espestos (Grilled Sardines). I don't know if its because they are fresh or if it is the way the locals grilled them but these little fish is just so sweet and tasty. For some reason they are all grilled on a boast on the sand.

You will find them along the many beachfront restaurants (Chiringuitos) along Costa de la Sol.

Ronda

Ronda is another of one of the lovely towns in Andalusia. We first know of it from the Korean variety show "Grandpa over Flowers" and the lovely scene in the show made it a must-see spot in Spain (same goes the rest of Korea as we keep seeing Korean tour buses at Ronda).

The town is situation atop two cliffs which made the view truly dramatic.

The most eye-catching scenery will have to be the old bridge that hangs across the new town and the old town. Start at the information center opposite the Bull Ring museum, and walk along the cliff to enjoy the scenic beauty of the town. The climb down the cliff to view the bridge with the waterfall is rather steep so be sure to wear your most comfortable shoes.

Frigiliana

Frigiliana is one of the white towns in the Andalusia region. We picked Frigiliana because it was along the route to Granada. After visiting Frigiliana, I can truly understand the allure of white towns. It is no wonder that people flock to places like Santorini.

It so happens that there was Miel de Cana festival the day we visit as the town is filled with people and bustling with activities. It seems like the Miel de Cana factory is open for visiting and there were free food and performances.

Although there are no major tourist sites to visit, exploring the town itself is great fun.
