2 countries, 4 small towns, 5 cities & 12 days Part III - Madrid

Our first city to visit in Spain is Madrid. To me, Madrid is like a transit city for the rest of Spain, so it didn't leave a very huge impression on me. Nevertheless, we did have the best sangria in Spain here and the food is delicious and value for money. Getting around is really easy with the metro so it's a good weekend getaway kind of place (if you live in Europe, winks).  So, here's my shortlist of places to catch while in Madrid.

Art lovers would love this museum. The museum arranged by periods from 12th to early 20th century, so that's a whole lot of paintings to view. If you intend to explore that whole museum, remember to allocate the whole day and perhaps take a break at the museum cafe.

Mercado de San Miguel

This is a place that is hard not to love. With the pretty glass panels and the fantastic food from all of Madrid on offer, a trip to Mercado de San Miguel is a must. Did I mention that we had the best Sangria in the trip right here? Yes indeed. Prerequisite for visit - an empty stomach!

Chocolateria San Gines

Of course a trip to Spain is not complete without having churros, and in Madrid, it got to be San Gines. I truly enjoy their churros, which are crispy but not overly so (if you get what I mean). And the hot chocolate dip is just complements the churros.
