Vienna, Austria 2015

With its numerous Christmas markets, Vienna during Christmas is almost like a land of fairy tale. Maybe 2015 was not really Christmas-y as there's no snow this year. However, the joyous holiday season vibe is still the same despite the warmer weather.

Demel

I love Viennese cakes for their texture and lightness and Demel makes lovely ones that are not only great to look at but also delicious to eat. Just look at the "snow globes" made of cakes. They looked too pretty to be eaten.

Address: Kohlmarkt 14, 1010 Wien, Austria

Opening hours: 9am to 7pm

Figlmueller

Another famous dish in Vienna that you cannot miss is the Schnitzel and Figmueller is famous for theirs. They make it so big that the cutlet overwhelms the plate that it's served in. Also, don't forget to order their potato salad. It goes really well with the schnitzel and gives you a break from meat. Do make a reservation if you want to eat at the original shop, otherwise, they have an outlet just steps away but waiting is a definite.
