Happy New Year! 2015 was quite a year. Full of highs and lows and definitely a trip packed year. This december is dedicated to the full winter experience that we traveled to winter wonderland, Norway. The main aim was of course to catch the northern lights as it was rumoured that 2015 was the last chance to catch them in their majestic display. But unfortunately, we didn't have any luck with the meeting her. But the trip was memorable nevertheless! The experience of living under twilight conditions (In December, the sun never raise above the horizon in Trosmo - which accounts for the poor phot quality) and encoutering the whales is definitely something not to be missed.

Comfort Hotel Xpress Tromso is conveniently located right behind the main shopping street of Tromso. We really love the sleek, minimalist design of the hotel.
The hotel eptitomised the minimalist concept so much that check-in is self service at the kiosk at the entrance of the hotel. This is definitely a first for us and we really love the idea of it!

Whale Watching with Artic Whale Tours
While we are unlucky in our northern lights hunt, we were extremely lucky on our whale sighting cruise with Artic Whale Tours. Here's just some clips on our whale spotting "adventure". I must say that the Artic Whale Tours are really professionally in how they conduct the tour and the guides and captain truly respect the wildlife in the area. To top up a really good tour, the soup served on the cruise is really awesome as well.
P.S. Please do not join those whale watching tours on the R.I.B, not only are they uncomfortable, but during our sighting of the whales we saw those R.I.B rush right towards the whales disturbing their catch and scaring away the whales.
